PHOTOSHOOT

Baby, Happy perfect 11 months! Hoho…my son is turning 1 soon….

Quick recap on Isaac’s development for past a month:
  1. He has 3 teeth now with 4th one coming out as well

  2. He understand what “no” and “don’t want” means, he will shake his head to “say no” to me! Hate to see him shaking his head left and right when feeding him *shang nao jing*

  3. He mastered straw drinking recently, and he loves to drink from straw! *Hooray*

We brought Isaac to Sean Lau Photography end of Aug. It was very tiring but we had fun! All in all, it was a nice shoot. Isaac was quite cooperative after 10mins warming up with Sean. Daddy and mommy were acting silly and making lots of funny sounds/expressions to make him smile in front of camera. Isaac enjoyed the PS very much, or rather he enjoyed crawling around the studio and playing with the props! Hee…Needless to say, at the end of the PS, the 2 clowns aka daddy and mommy were exhausted! But it was all worth because the photos turned out very nice!

MOBILE

Oops, Isaac has turned 10.5 months old today! Sorry my son, mommy is really late in posting this entry, simply because I am too busy during these few months! Besides juggling between work and family, daddy and mommy currently loaded with lots of agenda, e.g. home shifting (packing), renovation, organizing your 1st birthday celebration, recruiting a new nanny for you and etc! Ahhh…mommy feeling like an octopus now, has to take care of so many things at one time!

Oh ya, Isaac is turning ONE in 1.5 months time! *Time flies* Our initial plan was to hold a private celebration with family members. Guess what? Daddy decided to hold a small party for his precious last week! Hoho…is really no joke to organize a party in such a short time, thus we aimed for a small but “cozy” celebration for Isaac. Preparations are along the way now, we hope that everything will turn well on that day…

Recaps on our prince’s development and growth for past 1.5 months:
  1. 2nd tooth sprouted just a couple days ago
  2. Love to join us at the family table during mealtimes, to share our foods (basically he can only eat the plain rice, some unseasoned foods like steam fishes, potato, carrot, egg yolks). The naughty boy will tap my hand to request for foods whenever his mouth is “empty”. Hee…
  3. Learn to communicate wishes by *ei-ing*
  4. Likes to drop and throw things out of his cot or high chair *pengz*
  5. Enjoy peek-a-boo very much
  6. Able to cruise around the activity table and cot, steadily now. BUT, accidents do happen still! Hee.. Learn to walk with push walker since last week
  7. Learn to walk with push walker since last week
  8. Shaking head and “boo boo-ing” has become his two favourite daily activities at this stage. When we ask him stop doing that, he will ignore us but “boo” and shake more furiously! *mommy turn to shake head* Haha…
  9. His new hobby: Climbing our bed headboard and sofa, sigh…have keep close watch on him everytime!

My naughty boy playing with spoon during his lunch, aiyoyo!

Shaking head like nobody business, hee...

Boo-boo-ing, really funny!

FIDGETS

We brought Isaac to the Fidgets @Turf City last Sunday. The entry for adults and babies under 1 year is free! As usual, my shy boy felt “uncomfortable” and “unsecure” with the crowd. He was literally a koala bear to me upon reaching the playing area for young kids. He wailed when we put him down into the ball pool. Nevertheless, after a few mins of warming up and constant assurance from his “cruel” parent, Isaac finally managed to start his exploration at fidgets! Yeah!

We spent slightly more than an hour there. Glad that Isaac was adapting well and enjoy himself very much. Overall, we find that the “little fidgets” area is small. It is pretty crammed and chaotic, especially on Sunday afternoon. We have to keep a very close watch on Isaac to ensure he is not kicked/knocked off by other kids there. But…it is definitely worth to pay them a visit with FOC entrance and parking fees, hee…

KINDERMUSIK

Brought Isaac to enrichment class-Kindermusik private trial class on 26 Jul 09. Wanted to blog about it last week, but...sigh... Yes, I have been very slack in updating the blog, simply too busy juggling work and family. Sigh...lame excuse, i know! Hee...

Don't get us wrong, we are not those kiasu parent that wanna to "cultivate" a genius or stress our son at such a young age. We would like him to enjoy his childhood as well. All we want is for him to have an hour or two of fun where he can improve his social and motor skills. It will be great if we parent can also learn some tips for Isaac’s growth and development, besides spending time and doing things together to develop closer bond.

So far (as we are not kiasu parent, hee…), we only visited LittleNeuro Tree@ Jurong Safra, since it is only 5-10mins walk from our home. We did not enroll Isaac in their trial class, coz we think that their program is too academic for Isaac at this age. Instead, Kindermusik program maybe a good choice for our purpose, seeing that Isaac is a music lover and he likes to dance with music when he is good mood. Coincidently, a few of the Oct08 mommies from Singapore motherhood’s forum were discussed and organized a private trial class for kindermusik, I decided to register Isaac for it after reading about their comments online.

Unfortunately, the trial class was held during Isaac’s nap time, hence he was too tired to enjoy it. He was cranky most of the time until the teachers passed him the drum! Haha…The class was fun (think mommy enjoy and learn more than son), but we did not sign up for the program. There are lots of things that we can actually DIY at home to stimulate our child. In fact without knowing, I have already conducted kindermusik program with Isaac at home, all this while! For example, playing parachute (Isaac’s favourite), singing, dancing with him (to be exact, carrying your child to dance together), bubble blowing, etc. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful experience for both parent and son, especially for Isaac to meet up with friends at his age.

Oh ya, updates on Isaac's growth:
  1. He is able to pull himself up to stand with support, hopefully he can stand by himself without support soon...
  2. This bo gay boy has a small tooth growing, tooth fairy finally found him! Yeah!
And he is getting more and more handful! *concuss*

Lastly, hope my son's laughter brighten up your days!

Dedication

Happy 9-month old to our dearest son son, Isaac!

Wow, the days are passing by real fast that without much notice you’ve turned 9 months old today! Mommy enjoyed the days you kicked and somersaulted in my belly, and gave birth to you is the most profound thing mommy has ever done. Looking back at those photos taken since the day 1 you joining us, we cannot believe how much you have come into your own. Yes, you are getting smarter and handful with each passing day. It is bittersweet watching you grow up and move on to next step (too quickly for us to enjoy it). You never fail to amaze us with your “capability” on a daily basis. Sometimes, daddy and mommy do wish that we can be given a little more time of grace, to spend the quality time with you, but…sorry my darling…

Ok, time to recap your progress, thank god that we are giving chance to come so far...You’ve learnt to crawl around on your tummy, but only few steps on your knees, sit up on your own (is just a peanut to you now) and learning to stand with some aid, etc. You are getting more and more active and watchful eyes will always be around to ensure you don’t fall/trip over. In spite of this, incidents still happen…Aiyo…Daddy was super heart pain especially when you knock your head, ouch!

We caught you babbling away very often since you were 2-3 months old and you finally utter your first work - MAMA last weekend! Thanks darling, that is absolutely a great present to mommy! *Muack* But please, don’t forget your daddy ok?! Hee…mommy can smell the sour grapes, wahahaha… You did it again on Monday morning when mommy walked pass your playard to kitchen. Mommy was rushing to work and thus not stopping at your “room”. I heard you call out MAMA twice, loudly to get my attention. That was super heartwarming! Needless say, mommy “chiong” to pick you up and give you a big kiss! Love you my good son son…
Also, you’ve been salivating so much since last month, and we knew that it was because you are teething. Hoho…you are still toothless with super hard and itch gum to bite everything and anything! Does is means that you will lead a good life according to the myths and old wives’ tales on the late teething?! Haha…we hope so….Since last 2 week, you suddenly realized that it is fun playing with your saliva. You love to blow saliva bubbles while playing with your toys now! Gosh…you “pampered” all your toys (especially the walkaround exerciser and activity table) with your “saliva mask”. Although weather is very hot now, daddy and mommy don’t wish to receive your “saliva shower” ya! Keke…

Oh ya, you are becoming more “tum jia” now, which is very very good! *knock on wood* Daddy and mommy are delighted with your current appetites and your interest in our adults foods. We will continue to provide you with fresh, nutritious and yummy baby foods for sure. Although daddy is grumbling sometimes that the cost of Isaac’s food is very high (as mommy insisted on organic diet, if possible for you at this stage), but he still happily paying for them at the cashier, wahahaha….We will try to give you the best in your headstart of life within our means. So far, you have tried and tasted a wide variety of foods:
  1. Porridge (Ground organic brown rice with Si Shen, barley and pao shen)
  2. Cereals (organic brown rice, oatmeal and wholemeal)
  3. Pasta
  4. Organic Vegetables, e.g. beans, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, baby corn, potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, spinach, tomato, butterhead, baby pakchoy, Brussel Sprouts
  5. Organic fruits e.g. apple, pear, apricot, white peach, kiwi
  6. Fruits, e,g, avocado, banana, papaya, mango, strawberries
  7. Fishes: Threadfin and grouper (Thanks to Ah Ma who constantly providing fresh fishes to you from mommy’s hometown)
  8. Silver Fish
  9. Ikan Bilis
  10. Organic silken tofu
  11. Egg Yolk
  12. Pigeon small biscuits
  13. Bellamy toothiepeg and etc.
There are more to come, dear! Hoho...beet root, asparagus, cord fish, cheese, yogurt, berries, grapes, pork, chicken…all are in mommy's list now....

We love you so much our little mickey! Mommy and daddy truly hope that you can grow up healthy and continue live up to your name to have tons of laughter with you wherever you go!

Love you always,
Daddy and mommy

MILESTONES

I honestly can’t believe that our little boy is already with us for 8 months! I will probably say that every time he gets a month or year older. It just doesn’t seem like that long ago when my angel was pulled from me.

Our beloved son is getting so big! Isaac is now on 1 porridge meal in the morning, 1 cereal meal in the evening, 1-2 servings of fruits and 3-4 milk feeds. Although he was born as a small baby, we are glad that he continues to grow up as a healthy, active and happy baby! Love his “bo gay’s smile, that always melted our hearts…

At 8 months, he can sit relatively steady on his own and crawl everywhere on his tummy.

Basically, he is very engaged and interested in his environment and must go grab everything within his reach and put them into his mouth! Headache! See his curious expression, haha…

Looking back….
  1. He started smile a lot and do his baby talk when he was 2 months old
  2. He sleeps through the night since 3-month old
  3. At 4 months+, he can doze off on his own at night when the light off (thank god). Of course sometimes, he will wake up making little cries, but will soon back to sleep after drinking water or pacifying by us
  4. He can roll over since 4.5 month-old, and now roll over action is like piece of cake for him, he can perform anytime even during sleeping! Haha...
  5. At ~5 months, he will “give you five” whenever you raised up your hand in front of him
  6. Since 5 month-old, he loves to “sayang” daddy and mommy’s faces with his tiny hands
  7. Since 5 month-old also, he self-weaned off from pacifier, but substituted it with his fingers! *faintz*
  8. He mastered kissing mommy 1 day before mother’s day on 9 may 09
  9. I caught him sit up on his own on 1 Jun 09
  10. He squeals in delight when he sees his favorite toys! He loves toys with music and lights. We have no problem to leave him alone in his playard with a bunch of toys and he is as happy as can be
  11. He smiled and giggles when we cuddle, talk, sing and play with him
  12. He will scream when we tickle him, but yet expect more from us
  13. He loves to do YOGA and kicks like there’s no tomorrow
  14. He will dance when he is in good mood

15. He treats our laps as horseback riding exercise machine, hee…

16. Since last week, he can stand for awhile by holding onto his musical table

And many many more! He is simply our little angel!
