Dearest Daddy

I told hubby, I am going to have a special post on him as July is his birthday month, hee...

We had a simple celebration at home on daddy's birthday. Hubby took a day off on the special day, thus daddy & mommy managed to spent some quality time together before baby J pop.

A small cake-cutting session at night, of course with our little prince who sang the birthday song for daddy.

Isaac used to "reject" daddy, or rather he prefers mommy than daddy, especially when mommy just found out expecting with Jovan didi. He was literally a little koala bear to mommy, and basically he only wants mommy (to attend to all his needs, play with him etc), despite the fact that hubby is quite a hands-on daddy. Things change after mommy's pre-natal confinement. Daddy was forced to spend more time with his precious, taking over the child-care duties from mommy. I would say daddy did a wonderful job, and now Isaac is getting more and more closer to daddy. He loves to be carried (because mommy can't carry him anymore) and plays with daddy. In some of his "manja" days, he will request daddy to cuddle him, behave like a little koala bear who extremely clingy to daddy and refuse to get down. Just like last night, not sure why, he actually asked daddy to carry him to sleep. *faintz*

We are thrilled with this great improvement. It would always touch my heart when seeing both of them interact. The bonding between daddy and son is just very unique and heartwarming. This post is specially dedicated to my wonderful husband and lovely daddy of my sons, thank you daddy for working hard for us, loving our family the way you do and being there whenever we need you. Please take good care of yourself, stay strong and healthy always!

Isaac's New Friend!

Meeting Isaac's new friend - A green bird he met last Sun morning at pool side, hee...Surprisingly this bird is very "friendly", it did not fly away but linger around Isaac for few minutes. My little animal lover tried to reach and "sayang" the bird, but had a "small shock" when the bird "kiss" him before flying away! Wahaha....

As usual, my boy had great time in the pool, he is simply a water baby!

Try his very best to reach his Pooh toy! Hee...

Little Artist in Making?!

Thanks to the wet weather (worst daddy was stuck in the office from 7am to 3pm), Isaac can't go for his weekly swimming yesterday. Mommy decided to try out a new activity with him, the arty session @ home! Hoho...mommy bought this crayola paint few months ago, and it has since collecting dust in Isaac's wardrobe. *lazy mommy* Thus, yesterday was the "big day" to open up the package and let Isaac get messy, hee...A good trial I would say. So darling, more to come, mommy will think of some art and craft themes for you to try out next time ok?

In fact, he was more enjoying "playing water (washing the brushes)" than drawing, LOL

Prior to this water color painting, we have actually tried out the drawing and coloring with crayons and markers, again as you can expect, they are just another toys for him, but I could see he loves to do the all colorful scribbling!

Looking forward to the day he can color "properly" with crayons!

Scribbling with Marker!

Hoho, besides drawing on paper, Isaac loves to "tattoo" on his little hands and feets. Keke...not to worry, all the crayons, markers and paints mommy bought for him were nontoxic and washable. Mommy was the culprit who taught him to do the "tattoo"! *Bleh*

We are on the right track...

"We are on the right track." This is my gynae's comment after my review with her last saturday. Yeah, my little man is doing very well, measured ~2.3kg @ 33weeks. Mommy put on 600g for past 2 weeks, and 400g+ goes to him, not bad ya, hee....Baby J will be a August's baby according to Dr. YC, daddy and mommy getting ganchiong now...

Baby J indeed a greedy baby, he was sucking on the placenta again when we scanned him, haha...We saw his little lips and tongue moving, Dr. YC said he is practicing drinking milk, ready to come out anytime from Aug, it was so funny!

Looking at the good progress of mommy and baby J, Dr. YC finally reduced the dose of ventolin, and mommy going to be drug-free from next week, yeah! And I am also allowed to return to work in Aug, will discuss with my boss for the best arrangement (for both parties).

My little man is very playful and giving mommy hard time. He is super de duper active, awake and moving nearly all day most days. He is also a hiccup king like gorgor, poor mommy has insomnia attack for last few nights. His kicks and punches are very powerful, and they hurt! Hoho...hope my internal organs still in-place, wahaha...Nevertheless, mommy still enjoy his movements very much. *bleh*

Baby J creating tsunami inside mommy...

Oh ya, something funny to share. My da shaoye was trying to tackle 2 girlfriends during the 15mins wait time at my gynae's clinic. It was so amusing, all nurses and parents were looking at him, and can't help to LOL! Keke...I told hubby, oh dear, are we raising a "hum sup" son? *Faintz*

See the "hum sup" look of Isaac? Trying to attack the girl from her back! Wahaha...

Target #2, he tried to sayang the girl, but seems she not interested in him at all! LOL

Favourites

Isaac's favourite songs for now:

1. Old MacDonald had a farm

2. If you're happy and you know it song (It so hard for me to get a good clip on Isaac for this song. He can follow the song very well when I joined him. But the moment he saw me trying to capture the video of him, he will stop, but come and pull me to join him, ahhhh!)

3. Mr. Knickerbocker

Isaac's favourite toy for now: Big Block (He loves to stay in his "house", playing "hide and seek" and "3 little pigs" with us, haha...)

Building his castle...

Welcome to my little world!

Bean Sprout Pillow

Last week was literally a "pillow week" to me, because it took me 5 days to finish embroidering and sewing 3 set of pillow cases for baby J and a set of pillow + bolster cases for Isaac korkor, hee...

As I mentioned in my previous post about bean sprout pillow when expecting my darling Isaac, it is a practice of my family to prepare it for the newborn. Since I have made one for Isaac, there is no excuse for me to "neglect" my baby Jovan. However, due to my "pre-natal confinement", I have to solely depend on my sisters to get me the fabrics and other materials, I just used whatever they provided to me. :) I also bought a mini portable sewing machine online, which cost me $16.90 to sew the pillow cases. It can be only used for simple sewing project. I still prefer my mum's or MIL's traditional sewing machine, too bad I can't go back their places to do the sewing.

The mini sewing machine (with height ~15cm).

I have blogged about the "process" of making the pillow during my 1st pregnancy, thus I am not going to repeat the "story" here again. Nevertheless, I would like to share about the hand-embroidery of baby's name on pillow cass, as one of my friends is interested in it. But, I must emphasize that the method I used is very simple and "brainless" with limited resources I have. I am sure there are many other better (pro) ways in doing it. :)
My kindergarden standard way of embroidery:

1. Cut the fabric to desired size

2. Use a carbon paper, transfer the baby name (computer print out template) onto the fabric

3. Stitch the baby's name onto the fabric "supported" by wooden ring with embroidery thread

4. Sew the pillow cases to desired dimension. Here are the 3 sets of pillow cases for baby J.

After making the bean sprout pillow + pillow cases for baby J, mommy also sewed something for Isaac korkor. We bought a set of single-sized fitted bedsheet from Aussino kids at 50% discount for Isaac a week ago. It is quite a good deal. Although they only left with girl's design, but we manage to grab one design that Isaac likes -butterfly. Ever since we decided to upgrade Isaac from his cot, I started looking around (online) for cartoon character (e.g. mickeymouse, barney, elmo etc) bedsheet for him, but in vain (again). Let me know if you come across any of these (at reasonable price of course) ya! TIA! Hee...The bedsheet we got from Aussino come with a set of adult-sized pillow and bolster cases, it is quite a waste if I keep them in the wardrobe for future use. Therefore I decided to cut and alter the big bolster case to fit Isaac's new pillow + bolster set that daddy bought for him few weeks ago, as we need an extra set of cases for them too. And this is the end product. :)

Update and Upgrade

1. Update
Went for my bi-weekly review last Saturday. Again, hooked up to the CTG machine for 20mins to check on contraction. And yes, a very flat line showed on the chart, thus Dr. YC decided not to disturb my cervix and skip the cervix measurement. She is more relax now as I am in my 31 weeks. She then proceeded directly to scan on the baby. Baby J is head down and measured 1.89kg. A very good weight according to Dr. YC (Baby put on ~500g in 2 weeks time) and we hope that he remains head down until the delivery. Yippee! Mommy will try my best to hold baby J longer, we are aiming to deliver after 34weeks (of course the longer the better, if possible). Hoho...feel much relieved now as we are going to pass 2kg mark real soon. Is time to prepare for the arrival of Baby J! Was pretty slack, partly because mommy can't move around. Mommy is getting excited and in the mood of preparation after Sat's check-up. Will try to tie up all the loose ends since mommy is more "moveable" now. Hang on baby, give mommy sometime to get down to those nitty-gritty for your arrival, meanwhile enjoy playing around inside mommy ya! :)

Mommy's belly at 30 weeks.

2. Upgrade
Hoho...we have successfully moved Isaac from his cot to a single-sized floor mattress 2 weeks ago, impending arrival of baby J. Thankfully, it was a painless process, and we did it on the first trial during his afternoon nap without any struggles. He loves his new bed very much, and brought all his pillow and bolsters to "nua" on it the moment we laid the mattress out. Hee...he also requested to drink his milk and dress after bathing on it. Totally out of our expectation, which is good! We will eventually upgrade him to a toddler bed in his room when he is ready, hopefully will it turn out to be a smooth transition too. :)

Bye bye cot!
